Museum Brand

Museum of Nový Jičín
A New Visual Identity
Connecting All 8 Sites
Context
The Museum of Nový Jičín’s sites felt visually disconnected, leaving visitors unaware that they were all part of one institution. Although the brand guidelines were modern, they were too minimalistic and lacked the warmth and playfulness needed to engage the target audience – families with children.
Problem
I noticed that the modern style of the logo and guidelines didn’t match the character of the museum’s sites or visitors’ expectations. I chose to create an illustrative approach that would connect all locations – from museums to castles – while visually representing the single route visitors can take to see them all. My goal was to make the identity friendly, memorable, and distinctive for each site.
Solution
I developed a main illustration in a consistent color palette, which became the foundation for graphics across all sites. Each location received its own “visual signature” – for example, the prehistoric-focused museum features illustrations inspired by archaeological finds. This new visual style extended into merchandise, flyer layouts, social media templates, and Canva design assets. The result is a cohesive and approachable visual world that unites all branches of the museum.
